Frequently Asked Questions

How do I post an item for sale?

To post an item, first ensure you are logged in. Then, click on the floating '+' button at the bottom right of the screen (or the "Post an Item" link in your dashboard). Fill in all the required details about your item, including clear photos, and submit the form. Your item will then be listed on the marketplace.

Is it free to post items?

Users get 2 free posts. After that, a small fee of KSH 5 is required per item to cover platform maintenance and ensure quality listings. Payment is simulated via Mpesa on our platform.

How do I contact a seller?

When you view an item's details, you will find "Call Seller" and "WhatsApp Seller" buttons. Click these to directly get in touch with the seller using the phone number they provided.

What payment methods are supported?

Kenya Online Market facilitates connections between buyers and sellers. All payments for items are handled directly between the buyer and seller outside of our platform, typically via cash on delivery or mobile money (e.g., Mpesa) at the point of exchange. We do not process payments for items.

How can I ensure safety during transactions?

We strongly recommend meeting in well-lit, public places during daylight hours. Inform a friend or family member about your meeting details. Always inspect the item thoroughly before making payment. Do not share personal financial information beyond what is necessary for the transaction.

What if I encounter a problem or suspicious activity?

If you encounter any issues, suspicious behavior, or fraudulent activity, please report it to us immediately via our Contact Us page. Provide as much detail as possible to help us investigate.
